We Have An Etsy Store!!!

Have you ever heard of Etsy???  It's an online store where crafty people can sell their wares.  So we opened our own shop there!  Here's where to find us - Alaska Hearts Desire.  I'm able to take credit cards through Etsy so that's a good thing too!  :)  Hopefully this post will pique your interest and you'll go buy something!  Or you could just give us a "heart" and fav our store.  Here are examples of each of the signs in the store...  And please remember that all of our wood products are reclaimed from our own property or the surrounding area in Southeast Alaska. And each sign can be shipped within 1-3 days.  So you still have time to get one before Christmas!  Even better shipping to any US postal address is free!

The Elf on the Shelf is quite popular and this idea was just too cute to pass up!  Each Elf sign is $35.  (The one above the first paragraph is a second sign.  Blogger won't let me design my page the way I want to.)

$35 – This is hand sawn Sitka Spruce that has been planed and sanded.  Letters are vinyl.  Finish is wiping spar varnish. 

$30 - Lighted Canvas Sign has LED lights poking through the canvas and is MUCH prettier than the picture!  There's silver shimmer all over.  The lights are battery operated and can be set on a timer.  The batteries are included. 

$35 - Merry and Bright sign is simple and pretty!  It's on Sitka Spruce that's been planed and sanded, then finished with a wiping spar varnish.

   $15 - Hand split western red cedar wood with painted letters and design.  Finished with a wiping spar varnish.

  $15 - Hand split western red cedar with vinyl letters and finished with a wiping spar varnish.

  $35 - Silent Night Canvas is painted canvas with vinyl letters and LED lights poking through from the back.  Lights have either a paper punched snowflake or a 3D sticker attached.  The lights are battery operated and have a timer.  Batteries are included. 

  $20 - Hand sawn western red cedar with vinyl letters and swirls.  Finished with wiping spar varnish. 

  $15 - Hand sawn western red cedar with vinyl letters and heart.  There's a small natural knot in the center at the top. Finished with a wiping spar varnish.

  $15 - Hand sawn western red cedar with vinyl letters.  There's a natural not in the top center of the wood. Finished with a wiping spar varnish.

  $15 - Hand sawn western red cedar with cardstock design and letters.  Finished with a wiping spar varnish.  

  $35 each - These Rudolph signs are made from hand sawn Sitka Spruce that has been planed and sanded.  The design and letters are vinyl and the signs are finished with a wiping spar varnish.

  Peace Love Joy Signs are $25 each.  They are hand sawn Sitka Spruce that has been painted.  Designs and letters are vinyl.

Thanksgiving/Fall Cards for Sale

Hello and thanks for hanging in here with us!  We've been super busy trying to get our cabin ready for winter as well as trying to finish the entire building process.  It's been quite interesting around here!  For one thing we decided to move things around a bit so we switched the living and dining rooms!  That was quite a feat trying to move the heavy furniture and all my crafty supplies in the process!  But it's done and we're quite pleased with the new arrangement.  Steve has also been working hard on finishing the kitchen for me.  And he's been building our firewood stash as well.  If you'd like to follow our progress more, go to Alaskan Jungle Chronicles on Facebook.  There's all kinds of pictures and videos of our adventures here on the homestead we're building!

So I said all that to explain that we really didn't fall off the face of the earth and disappear.  We are actively working on lots of new projects for all of you!  Christmas is fast approaching and will be here before we know it so be sure and let us know if you have any special sign requests or if you'd like some custom-designed hand made Christmas cards!   

Today I'm sharing 2 Thanksgiving/Fall cards for sale. Each card was hand stamped, cut out and colored by me. They are both 5 inches by 6.5 inches and are blank on the inside so you can write a personal note. The cards are $3.50 each or both for $5.00.

Handmade Old Growth Cedar Signs for Sale

Various wooden signs for sale at the Hollis Volunteer Fundraiser Saturday, August 19 11 AM to 4 PM. 10% of the proceeds go to the Hollis VFD now to August 31st! Prices from $15 to $50. Signs can be customized by special order! Or design your own! Come see us at our booth! Great for gift-giving! Rope hangers are available on most signs. Matching easels are also available for some signs at booth or can be ordered. Here are some samples... There will be more at our booth! If you can't join us at the booth, send me a message and we'll ship it to you!  All of the wood used to create these signs are old growth cedar that's been salvaged.  Most pieces are at least 300 years old!

Limited Edition Photographs For Sale!!!

Limited Edition 12x18 unframed photographs for sale at the Hollis Alaska Volunteer Fire Department fundraising event Saturday, August 19. Printing will be limited to 100 for each photograph. This tree was a giant cedar that was 6 feet in diameter at the base!

It was rotting and in danger of falling so we had it cut down 

and sold it for hot tub wood and music wood.  The rest

will be used to build our home.

Welcome!!!

The intention of this blog is to showcase the latest signs and cards that are currently for sale.  We're still setting things up but our first official sale will occur at the Hollis Alaska Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser on August 19.  In the meantime, I will be working on updating this blog and our Facebook page under the same name.  I've never done anything like this before so please be patient with me!  At any time if you have suggestions for signs or cards you'd like, please let me know!
